Bella Bouquet

I forgot all about this sweet little bouquet of wildflowers from Stamping Bella! I was digging through my stamps the other night trying to find something and saw this sitting all by it's lonesome, UNINKED! So I put it to good use immediately. LOL.
Of course it was a perfect opportunity to use more Strano Designs striped ribbon. I colored the bouquet to match the ribbon, how's that for coordination! Then luckily, I was able to coordinate everything with the mat stack paper from DCWV. That rarely happens, but the stars were aligned perfectly that day, or something, because this card practically made itself.
Anyway, hope you like it, and thanks for stopping by!

Wisteria and Daisies

When you have big beautiful flowers like these Prima daisies, what else do you really need on a card? My plan was to actually stamp something on this card, too, but it just didn't need it! Some beautiful DP from Basic Grey, a little gorgeous ribbon, and there you have it.
I cut a frame using Spellbinders Labels dies, popped it up with foam tape, and voila--a simple, elegant frame for the daisy. I probably could've dug through my stash to find a small birthday sentiment, or something, but I figured I could always add it when I figure out who's gonna get it! I do this a lot, and it works better for me. I can't tell you how many times I needed a card for someone, I'll be digging through my stash for just the right one, but they all have sentiments that are just 'not right'. So I usually end up ripping it apart and adding a new one, or making an entirely new card from scratch. This way is better.
Hope it inspires!

Tilda & Edwin Tours And Paradise Magnolia DT Cards

Work has been verrrry busy since the kids have been out of school, working more hours, coming week has even more hours! No time for crafting it seems, :-(
Here are the last two DT cards for Magnolia, neither have Tilda or Edwin in it! So if you're not a fan of the sweet, no-mouthed children, Magnolia still has gorgeous stamps for you!
I am very fond of the scenery stamps Magnolia has been coming out with. They are pretty large, so Tilda would be in good proportion to them. Perhaps sitting on the edge of the scene. But I chose not to do that this time, the flowers and the waterfall were so beautiful I didn't want to detract from them with another image.

I usually don't like images of motor vehicles, I've never used one before, but this is what I like about being on a DT! I must work with what they send me, and it forces me to work outside of my comfort zone. Which is a good thing! I never would've chosen a stamp like this one, but I really ended up liking it! Fun to color, I used Liquid Glass for the windows (darn the camera for not catching that again!), it's so cute and fun! I made it look like it was zipping off into the sunset, (or sunrise) which is actually circles of DP cut with Nesties.

As soon as I saw this cute SUV image, I knew that's what I was going to do with it. The sentiment is made with my Just Rite stamps, since I didn't have any 'travel' words to use.
Thanks for looking, enjoy your Sunday!

Pretty Garden Hat--New Plum Purdy Stamps

Thank you for all the wonderful comments left last night during PTI's blog hop! What fun looking at all the wonderful creations!
I love the way this card came out. I used Cosmo Cricket's 'Dutch Girl' paper collection, which is pretty hard to find! Why is it that I like a lot of discontinued stuff? SO annoying!
I did a little zig zagging around the edges with my little Janome mini. Love that thing! Perfect finishing touch for that Shabby Chic thing going on.
Thanks for stopping by!

Blog Hop at Papertrey Ink! Summer edition

Blog Hop time at Papertrey Ink! This month's theme was a summer inspiration. I browsed dozens of sites on the web, trying to find a raspberry theme, because to me summer is all about berries of all kinds! I found this tiny little pic that just said ME, ME, ME from a gift basket shop.
So, here's my card inspired by the sweet little Raspberry Bread Mix. Kraft, Scarlet Jewel, Spring Moss and Avocado were the colors I used.
LOVE the new Scarlet color! Gorgeous!

Thanks for looking!

New Stamps from Plum Purdy Designs

Here are a couple more samples using the new releases at Plum Purdy Designs. The first photo has a card/gift card holder set. I like that Renee released two sizes of some of the stamps, a larger size of individual stamps, and a set of smaller images. This is a perfect example of why you would need two sizes! The gift card holder is simply a small folder with an inner pocket. How cute is that!
This daisy basket is also available as a single larger image, or part of a set of smaller images. I colored the flowers to match the Urban Prairie paper from Basic Grey, so summer-y!

Edwin's Lizard

Well this is a sort of jungle-themed card, as lizards always evoke that feeling. I even used twine instead of ribbon, to look like vines or rope. This is actually the only stamp I got from the Pets/Animals collection that actually has an animal in it!
The jungle leaves border was cut out, and popped up with foam tape. Everything colored with colored pencils, OMS, and Copics for his skin.
Be back later with another post for Plum Purdy Designs!

Great News! New Stamps @ Plum Purdy

Here's my big surprise! Ever since I found a few of Renee Mullins' designs in STAMPS last year, I've desperately wanted to see more of her designs in rubber (or clear polymer)! I know a lot of you asked about her stamps when I posted a few projects I made with her adorable snowmen and Halloween designs, and now--there are more! I've been emailing back and forth with Renee for a while while she worked on the stamp designs, and now they're finally here! This adorable little Bumble Bear set is just one of the 'everyday' themed stamps. She's offering them in clear or UM red rubber, I used the clear and they are very good quality, nice clear impressions every time.
If you think this guy is cute, wait till you see the gorgeous garden stamps she has. I love them all!
I'll be posting more projects using her stamps here, but if you can't wait, just go to Plum Purdy and check them out there. Under each stamp set is a link for a project I did using that stamp.
I think you'll be as excited as I am about these stamps, let me know what you think!

Tilda is Going Riding...

I've discovered I love striped ribbon...at least this particular ribbon from Strano Designs! They have some luscious ribbon! I thought it looked perfect for this card.
Other than the bow, it's a pretty simple card. Tilda was colored with pencils (except for her face, I use Copics for flesh now, nicer colors). Easy!
I'm going to have a very special post later, make sure you check back this evening!
Thanks for stopping by!

Magnolia Design Team Cards! Pet/Animal Collection

I know I haven't blogged in a loooong time. But I have a very good reason! My new Magnolia DT package came last week and I have been busy, busy! I've also been working on another 'project' but I can't reveal what it is yet. Here's a little bitty hint though. ;-) OK, that's pretty much a give away, but there's a lot more to it!

Anyway, here is my favorite card for Magnolia. I know it's called Khaki Tilda but I had to match her dress to the paper. And, I used some Copics! Now, I bought a lot of Copics a while ago, used them a few times, but really wasn't crazy about them. They were just not my style. I felt the look they created was too 'graphic-designed', like it was colored digitally on a computer. I like the artistic look, the pencil strokes, the watercolor washes, the texture, etc. So I sold all my Copics and was content to use my vast colored pencil collection. So why am I using Copics, you may ask?
Well, I hate mixing colors. Absolutely HATE it, and will avoid it if at all possible. That's not to say I don't mix colors when coloring with CP's or water colors, but I don't like having to mix a certain color all the time. Like the blue-green of Tilda's dress for example. I just don't have a CP out of all the brands I have that is close enough to it. (It's actually similar to Papertrey Ink's Ocean Tides). And because I love Ocean Tides, and use it a LOT, I looked for some other medium I could find a similar color in. That's where the Copic marker came in. So, I only have maybe a dozen colors to match the colors I can't seem to find in colored pencil. I'm not converting to Copic, don't worry! No way in the world I could afford all the colors I want, LOL! Plus I love my colored pencils too much!

Oh, and BTW, don't go crazy looking for a rock stamp that Tilda is sitting on at the Magnolia site, I drew it by hand!

I have tons of stuff to share with you, so keep coming back!

Butterfly Friends

OK, I got a new picture taking studio in a box thingy, that came with it's own portable lights, and while I love the set up, I am NOT liking the yellow-y lights! I just can't win with lighting! I don't know what to do now, I can't change the halogen bulbs! They don't have daylight halogens, or at least not that I can find. Oh the frustration! If anyone knows of a reasonably priced daylight lamp that is bright enough for indoor pictures, please let me know! So if my pictures have been looking a little 'off' lately, that is why, please excuse.
Anyway, here's another of the new Elisabeth Bell images from Sugar Nellie. I used it with the new Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday collection. So purrrdy, isn't it! Lots of scalloped layers on this one, reminds me of a little girls ruffled dress! Ruffles, ribbons, pearly buttons, what's not to love?!
I'm going to be busy working on new Magnolia DT projects this week, I received a large package of goodies yesterday! I'll have pictures of new Magnolia stamps soon!
Enjoy your Sunday!

Smell the Flowers...

My goodness, Sugar Nellie just keeps cranking out the beeeeeutiful stamps! I'm seriously going to go broke, I may need to go full time at my job for the summer now that the kids are out of school! I love the look on this sweet girl's face, pure bliss as she inhales the fragrance of the flowers.
This is actually a covered jr. legal pad. How snazzy would this look on your desk at work?!! I finally found a source for some of the discontinued lines of Cosmo Cricket's papers, this one is Dutch Girl. Needless to say, I stocked up! Sometimes a line of papers are just so beautiful and timeless, I have to stock up when I find them.
I searched high and low for a gerbera daisy like this one, too. I wanted a paper flower, but could NOT find one, so I disassembled a silk flower stem from Michael's. Not very economical, but this legal pad really needed a flower like this one, LOL!

Elegant Daisy

When this Friends stamp set came out from Papertrey Ink, I wasn't really crazy about it. In black and white, it just didn't really do anything for me, LOL. BUT, seeing it colored in--that's a whole different story! Wow!
I knew I had to make a card using the new Basic Grey Wisteria papers with these flowers I colored in with colored pencils. It was a lot of work coloring each individual petal, then cutting it out, but so worth it! I really adore this card. When I figure out who the lucky recipient will be, then I might add a sentiment, as well.
Hope it inspires!

Father's Day Cards

I know it's been a while since I've posted, but I've been up to something that's kept me pretty busy since last week. I promise I'll let you in on the secret soon!
I made these father's day cards a couple of weeks ago, just never took pics of them till today. Actually, I needed to finish the lighthouse one and added the 'Dad' scalloped tag. I used my Just Rite alpha set to stamp it out onto Soft Sky cardstock. The stamp is a great find on Ebay, from Stamps Happen. I love the D. Morgan images...

Then, a totally different style card, using Papertrey Ink supplies. I really like them both, and haven't decided which to send my dad yet.
Thanks for looking!

Windswept

Last day to enter my Blog Candy give away! You have until midnight tonight, New York time.

This is a new image from Sugar Nellie, called Windswept. What a darling little girl! She kind of reminds me of the Precious Moments children, doesn't she? I used to collect everything PM a long time ago, maybe that's why I was so drawn to her.

I used an older Cosmo Cricket collection paper, can't remember the name of it though.

Have a wonderful day, it's almost Friday!

Whimsical Flower Fairy

I've had these papers from K & Co.'s Mira collection for a while. I love the colors, but always found them hard to work with. I don't know why. I forced myself for this card though, it did take me a while, but I think I pulled it off!
The flower is a Spellbinders die that I sponged with ink before layering it all together.

Pudgy Little Sprout Fairy.

Well, in my never ending search for more stamps- new, fresh designs that I've never seen before, I ran across these sweet little characters from Eat Cake Graphics! How cute is this little sprout fairy??! I fell in love with the whole fairy collection and of course, had to bring them to my house, LOL!
I had to use lavender and spring green for this card, those just seem like fairy colors, don't they? Besides, I love this paper from Basic Grey. I think it's from the Lily Kate collection, but if I'm wrong, I hope someone will correct me.
